Make the most of iPeriod with the Settings Screen
- Alerts
- In-App Alerts: are displayed when you open iPeriod. After turning on alerts, be sure to indicate alert frequency and type of alert you'd like (expected period, late period). NOTE: you must have entered at least two periods for alerts to work.
- Email Alerts: are sent to the email address(es) of your choice. After turning on alerts, be sure to indicate alert frequency and type of alert you'd like (expected period, late period). NOTE: you must have entered at least two periods for alerts to work.
- Appearance
- Hide Title: For the sake of discretion, you may hide the iPeriod title displayed in the top bar of applicable screens.
- Skins: Customize the appearance of iPeriod with the included skins or purchase additional skins here.
- Calendar
- Breast Exam Reminder: The American Cancer Society recommends a self-breast exam at the same time each month. The reminder is set for day seven of your cycle, but you may change this here, in addition to turning the reminder on and off. Reminders include a small faded pink ribbon on the Calendar and an in-app alert.
- Icon Legend: Learn what all the colors and icons represent on the Calendar by viewing an icon legend.
- Startup Mode: If you'd like iPeriod to show the Calendar screen instead of the Summary screen when app starts, turn this mode "on".
- User-Defined Icons: You are given four icons to label as relevant to you (headaches, bloating, fatigue, etc.) After saving your new labels, return to the Notes screen and you will see your user-defined icons with your new labels to check off as needed.
- Passwords
- Startup Password: Keep your private data safe with password protection. Turn this setting on and then fill in the required fields.
- Online Password: An iPeriod account allows you to receive email alerts and backup data online. Touch the icon to the right of "Online Password" to setup your online account.
- Periods / Fertility
- Adjust Statistics: Here you may control how iPeriod computes your statistics. iPeriod calculates averages using all periods by default. You may turn this feature off and tell iPeriod to use only a specific number of previous cycles. This may be useful for women whose cycles have recently changed dramatically. You may also tell iPeriod to ignore cycles longer than a given length. For example, if you had an unusually long 50 day cycle that is skewing your statistics, you may tell iPeriod to ignore cycles of this length.
- Ovulation: Choose to have iPeriod predict ovulation and fertility or not. If you are not interested in this information, simply turn off this preference. You may also adjust the luteal phase here. iPeriod assumes a luteal phase length of fourteen days, which is the average for most women. The luteal phase begins when ovulation occurs. The luteal phase continues until Day 1 of your next period, or the first day that bleeding begins.
- Pregnancy: If you are pregnant, let iPeriod know here. Pregnancy mode disables alerts and projections, calculates your due date and adjusts statistics accordingly. When your period returns after pregnancy, you may turn this setting off or simply add a new period.
